Home Remedies For Itchy Skin ( Eczema)

Eczema is an inflammatory skin ailment that produces blisters, rashes, scaly areas, dry skin, itching, and infections of the skin. The most typical eczema symptom is itchy skin. Atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, nummular eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and stasis dermatitis are the seven types of eczema. Atopic dermatitis has no known treatment. However, remedies and self-care practises can lessen irritation and stop further breakouts. For instance, avoiding abrasive soaps and other skin irritants, using medicinal lotions or ointments, and moisturizing your skin all assist.

Try these home self-care techniques to help soothe irritated skin and lessen itching:

  • Bathe in bleach. A bath with diluted bleach reduces skin germs and associated illnesses. Measurements are for a 40-gallon (151-liter) bathtub filled to the overflow drainage holes with warm water and 1/2 cup (118 milliliters) of household bleach, not concentrated bleach. Soak from the neck down or simply the problematic regions of skin for about 10 minutes. Avoid immersing the head. Wash, dry with a towel, and moisturize. No more than twice or three times each week, take a bleach bath.
  • Your skin needs moisturising at least twice every day. While your skin is still moist following a bath or shower, use a moisturiser all over. Pay close attention to your back, sides, arms, legs, and other body parts. Use oil or lubricating cream if your skin is already dry.
  • Sprinkle baking soda, uncooked oats, or colloidal oatmeal, a finely ground oatmeal manufactured specifically for the bathtub, into the bath water (Aveeno, others). Take a 10- to 15-minute soak, wipe yourself dry, and then use either a medicinal lotion, a moisturizer, or both (use the medicated form first).
  • Apply a humidifier. The itching and flaking of sensitive skin can be made worse by the hot, dry indoor air. You may add moisture to the air in your house by using a portable humidifier or one that is connected to your furnace. In order to stop the formation of germs and fungus, keep your humidifier clean.
  • Treating anxiety and stress. Atopic dermatitis might get worse due to stress and other mental issues. Recognizing such and working to enhance your emotional well-being might be beneficial.
